Kiddos Corral: My 17 Day Diet Update
Hi guys and welcome to Kiddos Corral! Today, I want to share an update on my 17 day diet journey. I have been pleasantly surprised with how well it’s been going. I can’t complain at all. My first 17 days will be completed on Monday, and I still have a few more days to go. However, I’m already excited to start the next cycle because it allows me to incorporate a small serving of grains into my daily meals. This will definitely add some much-needed variety to my diet.
The first few days were tough as I had to cut back on my coffee intake, which, if you know me, is a big deal. I experienced some withdrawal symptoms, like headaches and feeling sluggish. But I powered through and managed to avoid drinking more than one cup of coffee in the morning. Surprisingly, I’ve noticed a significant increase in my energy levels since then.
Now, on day 11 or 12 (I’m losing track), I can confidently say that I’ve been bursting with energy. I can’t sit still and constantly feel the urge to keep moving and doing things. That’s why I’ve been fitting in exercise at the end of each day. Even though I’m usually up late, I no longer rely on coffee or unhealthy snacks to stay awake. Plus, I feel satiated throughout the day, even late at night.
Speaking of late nights, the other day I had a stressful situation where I had to stay up until 3:00 a.m. dealing with corrupt computer files. Despite the lack of sleep, I managed to handle it without reaching for a cup of coffee. I’m amazed at how energized I felt and continue to feel throughout this diet.
The diet primarily consists of vegetables, fruit, and Greek yogurt, which I’ve grown to love even more because of how good it makes me feel. There are a few things I didn’t mention in my previous update. One of them is that I’ve been starting my mornings with a cup of hot water and lemon juice, a habit I’ve had for years. It helps kickstart my digestion and keeps my system balanced.
As for the recommended green tea intake, I must admit that I haven’t been following it closely due to the hot weather. However, with fall approaching, I’m looking forward to enjoying a warm cup of tea while watching a movie. It’ll be a nice addition to my routine.
I’ve always been good about staying hydrated, drinking lots of water every day. In fact, I calculated that I drink around 128 ounces a day, just over a gallon. If you struggle with tracking your water intake, I recommend getting a water bottle with ounce markings on the side to make it easier.
Now, let’s talk about something that might be too much information, but it’s important to address. Since changing my eating habits and increasing my exercise, I’ve experienced a heavier menstrual cycle this month. It lasted longer than usual, although I didn’t have any cramps or bloating. I believe it’s a result of the changes I’ve made. Ladies, it’s normal and nothing to be ashamed of, so I wanted to share this information with you.
In terms of cravings, I’ve managed to resist the temptation of junk food. Even when my family ordered greasy hamburgers and fries, I stayed true to my commitment. I’m proud of the willpower I’ve shown.
Now, here’s an exciting update! I recently ordered the 17 day diet cookbook from Amazon. It’s written by Dr. Mike Marino, the same author of the 17 day diet itself. I can’t wait to explore the recipes and see what other tips and tricks I can discover. If you’re interested in checking it out, I’ll leave a link in the description below.
Overall, I’m a big fan of the 17 day diet because it focuses on the basics of weight loss without the need for calorie counting or complicated systems. It’s all about eating lean meats, vegetables, and avoiding junk food. This simplicity resonates with me, and I believe it can work for others as well.
To make meal planning easier, I’ve been prepping my meals in advance. Unfortunately, the last part of my meal prep video got corrupted, so I’ll make sure to film it again in the future. Trust me, it’s worth it. Flavorful and well-seasoned food has been key to satisfying my cravings.
I hope you’re all doing well on your own diet journeys. Remember to stay motivated, believe in yourself, and prioritize your own well-being. And if you’re new to my channel, please consider subscribing and liking this video. I’ll be back soon with more updates. Take care!
