We’ve got a great crowd here and it is time now for the diet that has everyone from Beyoncé to Jay-Z and Jennifer Lopez signing up. It’s called the 22-Day Revolution and it’s sparking a worldwide revolution. It’s all about going vegan and here to explain is New York Times best-selling author and celebrity nutritionist Marco Burgess Borges.

By explaining to us how this works?

Well, a plant-based diet is a diet that removes all animal products, and a vegetarian diet is very close to that in that you remove animal products or the animal flesh, but we allow dairy, eggs, some milk, some cheese. So what we do is, instead of thinking about elimination, what we do with the 22-Day Revolution diet is that we think about adding, right? So you’re maybe taking out a few of the staples that you’re used to eating, but we’re adding a ton of legumes, beans, seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables, fruits, and the list goes on.

Why 22 days?

Well, psychologists discovered that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit, so if you want to have something that’s sustainable, it’s about creating behavior modification. So if you adopted a healthy habit over the course of 21 days, on the 22nd day, you’d be a healthier version of you because you’d have the tool you need to be able to continue living that way.

Okay, that makes a lot of sense. Let’s start with Beyoncé’s go-to diet. And I believe that she actually is enjoying it right now.

Yeah, there she is. You see, she came; are you guys impressed? Come on, play along. All this is really amazing. This is our go-to meal at home right now. Who doesn’t love a burger, right? But wait, wait, I’m going to get you now. So imagine a burger full of fiber and without any cholesterol, right? So heart disease is still our number one killer, right? So the greatest thing about the plant-based diet is the only diet in the world that has been proven to not only arrest but it prevents and it reverses heart disease and diabetes. So this is like a win-win. So what’s in the burger?

This burger is amazing; it’s really simple. It’s pinto beans, quinoa, which is a complete protein source, walnuts, which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and that’s it.

Wow, that’s it? It’s as simple as that? Some tomatoes, some onions, some obviously you dress it with whatever you normally do?

Okay, guiltless. Totally guiltless.

Now, this looks especially delicious, and this apparently is something that Jay-Z enjoys. And yep, look at that, he looks a little angry there, but I know he’s enjoying. Tell us what he likes to do.

Who doesn’t love great ice cream, right? But you don’t love the guilt that usually follows after you’ve eaten it, right? So this is guiltless ice cream. This is made with coconuts, basically, really simple, and coconuts are really great for helping improve cholesterol levels. And it’s topped with sweet plantains. These are just absolutely out of this world, so it’s literally a guiltless ice cream.
