A hilarious and intimate portrayal of the comedian who transformed into the sensational, groundbreaking star of “The Colbert Report.”
Hello, my name is Stephen Colbert, but on television, I portray a character named Stephen Colbert. He looks and talks like me, but his deadpan delivery is not a reflection of my true beliefs.
No other comedian today can create buzz quite like Stephen Colbert. From his appearance at a Congressional hearing to his massive rally in Washington, D.C., and his best-selling book, he has captured the attention of the nation. His creation of the word “truthiness” has also become widely accepted. And, of course, there’s his wildly popular TV show that has made him a household name. Almost everyone has heard of him, except for the unfortunate politicians who agree to be interviewed on his show.
However, it is crucial to remember that all these accomplishments are attributed to a character named Stephen Colbert. Who is the man behind this extraordinary persona? In her enlightening book, “And Nothing But the Truthiness,” biographer Lisa Rogak delves into this question. She provides insights into the origins of Colbert’s humor, growing up as the youngest among eleven siblings and the family tragedy that forever changed their lives. Rogak details his early years, as he honed his acting skills and experimented with improvisational comedy. Additionally, she explores his close relationship with Amy Sedaris, which laid the foundation for the cult TV show “Strangers with Candy.” Moreover, Rogak offers readers a glimpse into the inner workings of “The Daily Show,” while highlighting the exclusive bond between Colbert and Jon Stewart, which ultimately propelled Colbert to his own stardom.
Through “And Nothing But the Truthiness,” readers gain an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the life of one of America’s most renowned comedians. This captivating book is a must-read for any devoted member of Colbert Nation.
Huge Dollar Tree Haul: Household Goods, Decor, and More!
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to go on a dollar store shopping spree? Well, look no further because I’m about to take you on a virtual haul of all the amazing things I found at the dollar store.
What I Bought
I picked up some self-laminating sheets, perfect for protecting photos or business cards. I also found some unique index cards and Mod Podge that’s been all the rage on Instagram. In addition, I grabbed some metallic poster boards and a couple of books at a great price.
For household needs, I found a laundry basket, cappuccino mix, and a giant pack of sugar. I also stumbled upon cinnamon sticks, food coloring, and some batteries. And let’s not forget about the adorable scotch tape with a paisley pattern that caught my eye.
In the stationery section, I got some cool pens, notebooks, chalk labels, and a bulletin board. I even found some trendy iPhone cases and some cute dust pots shaped like fruit.
As for scents, I couldn’t resist picking up limited edition candles in festive flavors like jingling juniper and spiced eggnog. I also snagged some air fresheners and cleaning products that smell amazing.
Lastly, I found some practical items like trash bags, kitchen tools, and a cutlery tray.
I have to say, some of the items I found were absolute gems. The self-laminating sheets are a great find, and the Mod Podge is fantastic for crafts. The scotch tape with the paisley pattern is not only pretty but also functional.
As for the candles, I was a bit disappointed with the gingerbread scent. It looked cute but didn’t have much of a fragrance. However, the pine-scented candle has been a hit, and the flameless candles with flickering lights are stunning.
Overall, my dollar store haul was a success. I found some practical and fun items that will come in handy around the house. If you’re a dollar store fan like me, I highly recommend checking out these items.
