B.P.R.D. Omnibus Vol. 3 Overview: Art, Stories, and Chronological Order

Hey everybody and welcome back to BK’s Bullets. Today, we’ll be taking an in-depth look at BPRD Omnibus Volume 3. This is the third volume in a planned 10-volume series, and I haven’t read any of them yet. In this article, we’ll explore the contents, the overall design, and what to expect from this installment in the series.

Overview

BPRD Omnibus Volume 3 is a collection of stories written by Mike Mignola, John Arcudi, and Guy Davis, with art by Guy Davis and colors by Dave Stewart. This volume contains BPRD Volume 6: The Universal Machine, Volume 7: Garden of Souls, and Volume 8: Killing Ground. It’s important to note that these stories are presented in chronological release order, unlike the previous volume which jumped ahead in time.

Art and Design

All the art in this omnibus is done by Guy Davis, who became the regular artist for BPRD. The cover art, created by Mike Mignola, is visually stunning and sets the tone for the stories within. It’s worth mentioning that the consistency of having one artist throughout these issues, spanning around 15-18 issues in this volume, is impressive and adds to the overall reading experience.

Contents and Extras

This omnibus is affordably priced at $29.99. However, one drawback is that the back cover does not provide a detailed list of the contents, so you have to open the book to find the table of contents. Nevertheless, once you dive into the pages, you’ll find a wealth of extras, including a sketchbook with around 40 pages of sketches for each trade paperback. This adds an extra layer of excitement for fans of the series.

Getting into BPRD

If you’re new to BPRD or looking to delve into it like me, these omnibuses are a great place to start. They are currently in print and available at regular prices, and you can also find them at discounted prices on various online platforms. With the release of multiple volumes this year, it’s an opportune time to catch up on the series.

BPRD Omnibus Volume 3 is an enticing addition to the series, holding true to the quality and consistency fans have come to expect.
