Beatles Are Coming!: The Birth Of Beatlemania In America by Bruce Spizer
View book: Beatles Are Coming!: The Birth Of Beatlemania In America
The Beatles Are Coming! is a comprehensive and precise account of the Beatles’ initial trip to America and the events that led up to their arrival on February 7, 1964. Serving as the most extensive and accurate publication on the evolution of Beatlemania in the United States, this book sheds light on the reasons why Capitol Records initially rejected the Beatles’ music on four separate occasions before finally agreeing to release their records.
The book delves into the stories of two lesser-known record labels, Vee-Jay and Swan, who tried and failed to make the Beatles a success in the American market in 1963. It also provides an insight into the way the American media portrayed the Beatles at the time – as a peculiar craze occurring in England that could never gain traction in the United States.
Moreover, The Beatles Are Coming! uncovers the background behind the Beatles’ appearances on The Jack Paar Program and The Ed Sullivan Show, as well as their legendary concerts at Carnegie Hall. It concludes with a captivating collection of stories and photographs capturing the historic significance of the Beatles’ first-ever visit to the United States in February 1964.
Containing an impressive collection of over 450 images, many of which have never been published before, this book is a treasure trove for Beatles enthusiasts. It even features a foreword by the esteemed Walter Cronkite.
Beatles Book: The First Four Releases – In-depth insights & rare memorabilia
Welcome, readers! Today, I want to share some exciting news with you. Last week, I received a package in the mail that contained a fantastic new book by the talented author, Bruce Beiser. This book is a treasure trove of photographs, information, and memorabilia, focusing on The Beatles’ first four releases. From “Please Please Me” to “With the Beatles,” this book covers it all. It’s packed with fascinating details that any fan of The Beatles would love.
Let me tell you, I own all of Bruce Beiser’s previous books in this series, and they never disappoint. The amount of information he includes is incredible, and the rare photographs he showcases are a real treat. What makes this book even more special is that it includes contributions from Bill King, Al Sussman, Frank Daniels, Piers Heming Hemingson, and other dedicated Beetle fans. It’s a collaborative effort that truly captures the essence of The Beatles.
I’d like to give a special shout-out to Bruce Beiser for personalizing and autographing my copy of the book. It’s a rare keepsake that holds sentimental value to me. I’ll insert an image of the autograph here for you to see.
Switching gears for a moment, I’d like to mention that I’m using a new microphone for this video. It’s a saramonic shotgun microphone with a windscreen and a dead cat. It’s been sitting in its box for a while, and I’m thrilled to finally put it to use. I’ll show you the windscreen and dead cat in a moment, but first, let me apologize for my fumble earlier. Here they are, aren’t they fascinating?
Well, that concludes today’s video. But fear not, I’ll be back soon with another one! In my upcoming video, I’ll be discussing Elvis Presley’s 68 Comeback Special box set and a double CD featuring his music from The Jungle Room. Stay tuned for those exciting reveals.
Thank you for joining me today. This is Mike Micron signing off. Have a fabulous day!
