Chapter One: Be Calm

Do you ever feel a little restless, like you can’t sit still? It can be challenging to find calmness, but these exercises can help you achieve a peaceful state of mind and body. Try them out, and remember, you can always do them as many times as you like. Let’s get started!

Candle Breath

Imagine you’re holding a candle. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, blow gently towards the candle, aiming to make the flame flicker. Don’t blow too hard; you want to keep the flame alive. Take a slow breath in, and slowly breathe out. Inhale deeply again, and now blow the candle out. Well done!

Hot Chocolate

Imagine you’re holding a cup of hot chocolate. It’s too hot to drink, so you need to cool it down by blowing on it. Bring the cup close to your face, take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, pretend to blow on the steaming liquid. Take another deep breath in, blow again, and now take a tiny sip. As you drink, try to let each sip last as long as possible. Put your cup down and exhale fully. Delicious!

Flower Breath

Picture a beautiful flower in your mind. Imagine its vibrant colors and delightful fragrance. Take a deep breath in through your nose, imagining you’re smelling the flower, and exhale fully through your mouth. Take another deep sniff and release the air again. One more time, inhale deeply, and let it all out. Great job!

Count to Five

Have you ever heard the phrase “Let’s take five”? It means taking a quick break from what you’re doing. It’s an excellent way to calm down. Take a long breath in while silently counting to five: one, two, three, four, five. Now, exhale while counting to five again. Repeat this process. Remember, whenever you feel upset or angry, take five to feel peaceful.

Bear Breath

Imagine you’re a bear hibernating for the winter. Bears breathe slowly through their noses while hibernating. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale fully. Once more, inhale deeply, and let it all out. Feel how cozy and safe you are in your imaginary bear cave. Now, take another long, slow breath in, and release it completely. You’re doing fantastic!

Your Favorite Color

What’s your favorite color? Whether it’s blue, purple, orange, red, or another color, imagine a little ball of your favorite color inside your body. As you take a deep breath in, visualize the ball growing larger and larger, enveloping your entire body. Imagine everything around you bathed in your favorite color, creating a warm and comforting atmosphere. Take a slow, deep breath in, and exhale fully. Amazing!
