Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf

Awarded as a Goodreads YA Best Book of the Month and an Amazon Best Book of the Month in the Science Fiction & Fantasy genre, “Bring Me Their Hearts” introduces us to Zera, a Heartless – an immortal, ageless warrior bound to the witch Nightsinger. Yearning for freedom from the confines of their woodland hideout, Zera finds herself serving Nightsinger, with her heart trapped in a jar, under the witch’s control.

However, Nightsinger presents Zera with a proposition: if Zera procures the heart of a prince, she will be granted her own heart back. The catch is that if Zera is caught infiltrating the royal court, Nightsinger will ensure her heart is destroyed rather than letting her suffer at the hands of the witch-hating nobles.

Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane despises the royal court despite their adoration for him, with tutors too frightened to correct him and a constant stream of girls vying for his affections. Enter Lady Zera – unconventional, quick-witted, carefree, and harboring a desire for revenge against the prince. This sparks a thrilling game of cat and mouse between Zera, a defiant young woman with nothing to lose, and Lucien, a privileged young man who seemingly has it all. The stakes are high – the loser loses their heart. Quite literally.

The Bring Me Their Hearts series is best enjoyed in the following order:

  • Book #2: Find Me Their Bones
  • Book #3: Send Me Their Souls

Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf | Book Review

Hey everyone, my name is Avery and today I want to share my thoughts on the book “Bring Me Their Hearts” by Sarah Wolfe. I recently finished reading it and I thought it would be great to talk about it here. Before we get started, I just wanted to apologize for the sticker on the cover. I tried to take it off but it left some residue, so please ignore that. Now, let’s dive into the review!

What is “Bring Me Their Hearts” about?

“Bring Me Their Hearts” is a fantasy novel that follows the story of Zira, the main character. Zira is a heartless, a creature created by a witch who rips out their heart and keeps it in a jar. Heartless beings serve the witches and are considered dangerous by humans. Zira longs for freedom and is given a chance to gain it by a witch named Knight Singer. In exchange for her freedom, Zira is tasked with going undercover as a potential bride for the prince and stealing his heart. The story revolves around Zira’s journey to regain her freedom while navigating the court and dealing with her hunger as a heartless.

My Thoughts

I absolutely loved “Bring Me Their Hearts” and gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It’s one of the best fantasy novels I’ve read in a long time. The characters, especially Zira, were well-developed and compelling. Zira’s internal struggle between her nature as a heartless and her desire to be a good person was particularly captivating. While the prince wasn’t my favorite love interest, I believe there is potential for him to grow in future books. The slow-burn romance between Zira and the prince was excellently done, with tension and restraint adding depth to their relationship. Additionally, the concept of Zira’s hunger personified as a separate entity was fascinating and added complexity to her character. The book ended on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.

Final Thoughts

“Bring Me Their Hearts” by Sarah Wolfe is a captivating fantasy novel with well-developed characters, an intriguing plot, and a unique concept. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting and engaging read. If you enjoy strong female protagonists, slow-burn romance, and compelling world-building, this book is for you. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in the series and I hope more people discover and enjoy this fantastic story. Let me know in the comments if you agree with my thoughts or if you have any new insights to share about this book. Thank you for reading and I’ll see you soon with a new video!
