Creating a Design Business for Non-Designers: Insights and Strategies

Hello everyone! Today, I want to share with you some insights about our design business. While we may not have a YouTube channel or videos to showcase our work, we have created a consumer-based design company that focuses on providing design solutions for non-designers.

When we started this business a few years ago, our main goal was to help people who, like me, felt frustrated and overwhelmed when it came to making design decisions for their homes. We wanted to fill the gap between the 96% of people in America who don’t use an interior designer but still want design guidance.

We quickly realized that our target audience was not limited to a specific geographical area. People from different states, like Texas, Colorado, Illinois, and even Minnesota, were seeking design inspiration but lacked access to design professionals and resources.

To meet this demand, we created a marketplace of accredited interior designers who collaborate with our customers online. Through our platform, customers can share their preferences, ideas, and even upload images of their own rooms. Our designers then curate personalized design recommendations and provide visualizations through 3D renderings.

What sets us apart is our focus on creating a personal and accessible design experience. We discovered that incorporating elements of reality, such as showcasing family life and including children in design images, resonated better with our customers. These personal touches created a stronger emotional connection and increased engagement.

In order to streamline our design process and ensure efficiency, we utilize data extensively. By gathering data from our customers and analyzing their preferences and behavior, we can narrow down product recommendations and create tailored design experiences.

As we continue to grow and evolve, we have learned the importance of incorporating feedback and collaboration across our entire team. By involving everyone in the decision-making process, we can gather different perspectives and improve our design offerings.

Overall, our goal is to make design more accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We believe that everyone deserves quality design, and we are dedicated to providing solutions that meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our design journey. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
