Mayor Kane : My Life In Wrestling And Politics by Glenn Jacobs
The astonishing tale of how wrestling icon Glenn “Kane” Jacobs defied all expectations to become the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee unfolds in a truly captivating fashion.
Even during his prime in the world of wrestling, Jacobs found inspiration in influential libertarian figures like former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, Republican Senator Rand Paul, and Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano. These individuals played a pivotal role in fueling Jacobs’ own political aspirations.
Prior to assuming his role as Mayor Kane, Glenn “Kane” Jacobs enjoyed an illustrious career as one of WWE’s most renowned superstars for a remarkable span of two decades. Throughout his journey, he triumphantly traversed the globe alongside legendary figures such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, Ric Flair, among numerous others. Together with The Undertaker, he formed the indomitable “Brothers of Destruction,” leaving an indelible mark on the WWE. Furthermore, Jacobs underwent a transformation alongside Daniel Bryan, banding together as “Team Hell No.” In an unforgettable moment, he even set the esteemed commentator Jim Ross ablaze.
Nevertheless, the transition from wrestler to politician did not entail leaving Jacobs’ wrestling persona behind. Instead, he skillfully employs his wrestling acumen in the realm of politics. Remaining fiercely committed to President Trump and his agenda, Jacobs diligently implements a range of conservative policies within the state of Tennessee.
Mayor Kane Book Signing & Interview | My Life in Wrestling and Politics
Hello everyone in the interweb world, it’s Glenn Jacobs here, also known as Kane from WWE. Today, I am signing copies of my book “Mayor Kane: My Life in Wrestling and Politics” and answering your questions. You can get a signed copy of the book at premierecollectables.com.
Let’s get started with the first question from Brendan in Montrose, Victoria. He wants to know about my memories of teaming with The Hurricane. Shane Helms, who played The Hurricane, is a good friend of mine. We had a lot of entertaining matches together, and I enjoyed teaming with smaller guys because it created a contrast. The story for the match was already set, and Shane brought an entertainment element that was really cool. I remember there was a funny moment when he tried to choke slam someone who was too big, and I had to help him out. Overall, he was one of my favorite tag team partners.
The next question is from Antonio in West Brookville, New York. He asks about my favorite WrestleMania. It’s an easy one – WrestleMania 14 in Boston, where I faced The Undertaker. It was the culmination of the Kane-Undertaker story that had been building for a year. The main event that night was Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Shawn Michaels, with Mike Tyson as the special guest referee.
Robert from Rodeo, California, wants to know if I had more fun portraying a monster or in comedic roles. It’s a great question, and I enjoyed both. However, I had a lot of fun doing comedic roles with Daniel Bryan as it allowed me to be myself and show a different side of my character. After years of being a dark and sinister character, it was refreshing to do some light-hearted stuff.
Josh from Worthington, Minnesota, asks if I would consider wrestling again full-time. While I never say never, I don’t think I will come back full-time. The schedule is demanding, and I am focused on my role as mayor.
Jerry from Lance, Michigan, wonders if I have any further political aspirations. Right now, I am fully committed to my role as mayor and doing the best job I can. Local politics is incredibly important, and I want to make a difference in my community. If another opportunity arises in the future, I will consider it, but for now, my focus is on being the best mayor I can be.
Steven from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, asks who I would have loved to wrestle that I never had a chance to. One wrestler I would have loved to face is Andre the Giant. Unfortunately, he passed away before I entered the business, but he was a one-of-a-kind performer, and it would have been an amazing match.
Jonathan from San Francisco, California, wants to know why America is so polarized and if it has always been this way. Throughout history, America has always had factions and differences. Even in the early days, the media had biases. I believe the current polarization is exacerbated by the growth of government power and influence. Reining in the government and returning to a more limited role would help resolve some of these issues.
Judy from Duluth, Georgia, asks if my wrestling career has helped me in any way as a mayor. Absolutely. My wrestling career taught me valuable interpersonal skills, leadership, and the ability to relate to people. These skills have been invaluable in my role as mayor, where building relationships and working with others is essential.
Dennis from Myrtle Creek, Oregon, wonders what made me get into politics. I have had a wonderful life and career, and I believe it’s because of the freedoms we have in this country. I wanted to ensure that future generations have the same opportunities and pursue their dreams. That’s why I got into politics – to make a positive impact and secure a better future.
Ron from Knoxville, Tennessee, asks which city was my favorite to visit during my wrestling career based on fan interaction and excitement. While there have been many great cities, my favorite has to be Chicago. The fans in Chicago were always enthusiastic, and the arena had an intimate atmosphere, even with its large capacity. Australia and Japan also hold special places in my heart because of the passionate fans and amazing stadiums.
