Digital Escape Rooms (Book Edition)

Libraries may be closed but I assure you that your librarians and library staff have been working tirelessly behind the scenes. One of the fun trends that has popped up due to COVID-19 closures are digital escape rooms.

Escape rooms are themed rooms that participants are ‘locked’ in. Participants have one hour to solve the puzzles in the room and free themselves. They’ve taken that idea online. These are Google forms that are used like a quiz. Give the correct answer to move on to the next part of the story.

Here are some digital escape rooms that I’ve found online that are book related or based on books.

Challenge yourself. Work together with those you’re social distancing with. Email to all your friends and time yourselves to who escapes the quickest. Enjoy!

Summary from Goodreads:

There is a door at the end of a silent corridor, and it’s haunting Harry Potter’s dreams. Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror?

Harry has a lot on his mind for this, his fifth year at Hogwarts: a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey; a big surprise on the Gryffindor Quidditch team; and the looming terror of the Ordinary Wizarding Level exams. But all these things pale next to the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named — a threat that neither the magical government nor the authorities at Hogwarts can stop.

As the grasp of darkness tightens, Harry must discover the true depth and strength of his friends, the importance of boundless loyalty, and the shocking price of unbearable sacrifice.

His fate depends on them all.
